Frank Spivey, age 86 of Hamilton, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Frank was born in Cumberland, Kentucky on July 6, 1937 to the late Dave and Hattie (Blair) Spivey. After his family moved to Hamilton, Frank graduated from Ross High School, Class of 1957. Frank enlisted in U.S. Marine Corps and proudly served for six years. After his time in the service, Frank worked at Mosler until its closing before going to work at the Fernald Site. Frank held multiple amateur radio licenses and held the call-sign W8ORT. Frank also enjoyed dancing, from line and square to samba and ballroom. Above all, Frank loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Frank will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Carolyn Spivey; his sons, David Scott (Eileen) Spivey and Toby (Tammy) Spivey; his grandchildren, Jarred (Tiffany) Spivey, Megan (Nick) Ray, Heather (Tyler ) Harkins, Devin (Diya) Spivey, and Matthew Spivey; his great-grandchildren, Aidan, Bryslon, Xaydon, Sebastian and Remington; his brother-in-law, Tooter Roberts; his nieces, Dawn (Alan) Turner and Kim (Mike) King; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Bonnie Roberts.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013 followed by interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
