Betty Jean Sonny, age 74 of Cincinnati, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2024. Betty was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 4, 1950 to the late Edward Blevins and raised by Wilma Jean and Bill Smith. She was a beautician, then a bank manager but she had such a passion for cosmetology that she kept her license current to continue cutting hair for anyone who wanted her services especially her husband, dad, and grandchildren. After her banking career she then spent the rest of her life as a nanny and grandmother, caring for many children that she loved as her own. Betty spent her life as a caregiver to many family members and friends throughout the years. She had a deep faith and trusted in God.
Mike and Betty are survived by their sons, Jon (Lisa) Sonny and David (Jillian) Sonny; grandchildren, Justin, Dylan, R.J., Maura, and Poppy; her father, Bill Smith; and his siblings, Andrew Sonny, Donald Sonny and Elizabeth Taylor. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John and Caroline Sonny; and his siblings, John Sonny and Barbara Brenneman. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma Jean Smith and Edward Blevins; and her siblings, Johnny and Mary Jane Smith.
Visitation will be held at Fairfield West Baptist Church, 5345 Muskopf Rd, Fairfield, Ohio, on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 11:30AM-12:30PM. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 12:30 PM at the church with Pastor Rob Rosenbalm officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
