Wayne Willis, age 84 of Hamilton, passed away at Doverwood Health Care on Friday, January 24, 2020.  He was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 26, 1935 the son Scott and Nannie (Wells) Willis.  Wayne was employed as a machine tender at Champion Paper Company for more than 45 years, retiring in 1997 and he was a member of the Hamilton Christian Center.  In 1956 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana he married Lu Ellen Rose.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lu Ellen Willis; three children, Scott (Gayle) Willis, Tim Willis, and Joanie (Denny) Brooks; five sisters, Colleen McCarty, Imogene (Quail) Bowling, Yvonne Lesher, Mallie Pendergrass, and Marlene Fisher; five grandchildren, Nathan, Jeremy and A.J. Willis, Jordan and Adrienne Brooks; 8 great grandchildren, Sophie, Ethan, Hannah, Charlie, Cruz, Maggie, and Lucy Willis, and Aaron Brooks; and numerous other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Hamilton Christian Center, 1940 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Johnny Wade Sloan officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hamilton Christian Center.

I worked at Champion Papers with Wayne in the early 1980's. Wayne was a backtender then on #9 paper machine. It was an honor to work with him! A very good Christian man and family man! I know he will be missed very much by his family and friends.
