April 21st, 1945 - October 15th, 2019
Richard Paul Fassnacht, age 74, passed away on October 15, 2019. Rick was born in Cincinnati Ohio to Howard Fassnacht and Deloris Brosseni Fassnacht. He also had an older brother Louis Fassnacht who all proceeded him in death. Rick is survived by his wife Diana Fassnacht, daughter Debra Baker ( Rocky ), daughter Sherry Jones. Rick was blessed with five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren who he loved dearly.
Rick was a Vietnam Combat War Veteran serving his country with the US Navy from 1965 - 1968 active duty. He remained in the reserves until 1971 when he received an honorable discharge. He was decorated with The National Defense Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal and The Vietnam Campaign Medal upon discharge.
Rick loved to fish with his son in law Rocky. For many years they would leave for a week at a time returning home with a bounty of fish that he enjoyed eating as much as he did catching them. He always looked forward to his best friend Chester coming over, sitting in the garage, watching old westerns, the history channel and snacking together for hours on end. Rick also looked forward to talking to his nephew Mike, sometimes 2-3 times a day, spending hours on the phone with him.
Rick enjoyed 38 years of marriage with his wife Diana. He was always excited to hear a new baby was joining the family. He loved riding the grandchildren around on his lap in the wheelchair. His face would light up and he’d have a huge smile on his face when they would come for a visit.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral home 1350 Millville Avenue Hamilton Ohio on Monday October 21st 2019. Visitation will be at 10 am, until time of service service at 11 am with Pastor Michael Boutot officiating. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Memorial Park.
