Kathleen (Kathy) Baker passed away Friday, November 30, 2018, peacefully at Atrium Medical Center in Middletown. She was born June 28, 1958 in Hamilton. Growing up on the family farm on Ross-Hannover Road. Kathy loved animals and outdoors. She always had a dog or cat to love and take care of. She had been a teacher’s aide at Talawanda High School.

Kathy loved life, but most important to her were her family and friends. She was especially devoted to her son and daughter. Kathy survived a serious car accident about 30 years ago, leaving her with a serious head injury. However, she didn’t let this stop her from enjoying life. She continued to travel; even going to Hawaii to meet the famous Hawaiian, Don Ho. Music was her love. We spent many hours listening to the 60’s and 70’s, especially Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash. She loved to dance and sing along with the music.

Kathy was excellent at crossword puzzles and trivia. She and her mother would spend many evening completing the crossword puzzles from the Journal News. Her long term memory was excellent and she could easily recall friends and family members.

Kathy was a long time member of the McGoniglel-Millville United Methodist Church. She attended the Fairfield Baptist Church where she had a wide circle of friends. She also was a fortunate to have a very caring staff at her residence at Garden Manor.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Mike Kalivoda. She is survived by her mother Margarete Kalivoda; sisters, Mrs. Linda (Richard) Roemer, Mrs .Gayle Gilmore; devoted brother-in-law, Richard Roemer; son, Rick (Shauna) Baker, and daughter, Katina (Jimmy) Laird. She also dearly loved her grandson, Caleb Laird, granddaughters, Zoe Smith and Charlie Baker. She leaves her nephews Richard Mikel (Terri) Roemer, James (Patricia) Vandyne, and Amber (Chris) Gilbert all of whom she was greatly devoted to. She was also blessed with great nephews and nieces, Autumn Roemer, Noah Gilbert, Emma Gilbert, and Katie Vandyne. Visitation Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton OH from 11am to 12pm.  The funeral ceremony will follow at 12pm with Pastor Chris Trumbull officiating.  Burial will be at Millville Cemetery.
