Edward J. "Rock" Stang, age 70 of Darrtown, OH passed away at residence on Friday, October 19, 2018. Rock was born in Hamilton, Ohio on February 6, 1948 to Earl H. Stang and Blanche E. (Menke) Stang. Rock was a 1966 graduate of Talawanda High School, where he enjoyed playing football. He has lived in Darrtown all his life and has worked the family farm for over 52 years. He always enjoyed farming, tractor pulls (especially Farmall’s and International Harvestor tractors), going to Miami’s hockey games, and spending time with his family and friends. He has always been so proud of his grandchildren (Kaitlyn and Owen) and supported them in their sports and activities.
Rock is survived by his wife, Patty Stang; daughter, Dawn (Scotty) King; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn King and Owen King; siblings, Julia A. "Snookie" (John) Kruse and Earl L. "Junie" (Sharon) Stang; three nephews, Andy Stang, Randy Stang, and Casey Stang; one niece, Christy Stang; mother in law, Jeanne Jones; brother and sister in laws, Gary (Georgia) Jones and Pam (Allen) Lakes; and many other family and friends. Rock was preceded in death by his parents, Earl H. Stang and Blanche E. Stang; and grandfather, Edward "Doc" Menke.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastor John Witt officiating. Burial will follow at Darrtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. The family would like to invite everyone to the Collinsville Community Center, 5113 Huston Road, Collinsville, OH 45004, for a luncheon immediately following the graveside services at Darrtown Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Milford Township Fire Department.
