Clyde O. Root, age 81, a long time resident of Hamilton, OH, entered into eternal rest with his Lord on September 29, 2018.  Devoted Husband of 59 years of Ethel (Boggs) Root and Loving father to daughter Rebecca Root.  Clyde was born in London, KY on February 27, 1937 where he graduated from Bush High School and attended Sue Bennett College to pursue his passion for History.  Clyde spent 38 years employed by Beckett Paper Company following his time of service in the Ohio National Guard.  He was a faithful member of West Side Baptist Church and formerly attended Hamilton West Baptist Church where he met many cherished friends.  A kind and loving man, Clyde rejoiced in being with his family and friends, repairing anything, mowing the grass, playing golf, cheering for the University of Kentucky Wildcats, and eating home cooked meals.  He took great pride in working hard.  Clyde was a member of Benjamin Franklin Lodge #719 where he served as Past Worshipful Master.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Ethel and daughter Rebecca, both of Hamilton, OH.  Many relatives, countless friends including Roy Ivey and Jack Reed and extraordinary neighbors who loved him as family.  Clyde was preceded in death by his treasured son, Richard.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, October  2, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, where a Masonic Service will be held at 12noon and a funeral service to immediately follow with Dr. Richard Rhodus of West Side Baptist Church officiating.  Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.  The family welcomes flowers, however, if desired memorial contributions can be made to West Side Baptist Church, 154 Gordon Ave. Hamilton OH 45013.
