February 19th, 1935 - January 16th, 2018
Patsy J. Oldfield, age 82 of Hamilton, passed away at Spring Hills Middletown Memory Care on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 9:15pm. She was born in Lilly, KY on February 19, 1935 to Ben and Hannah (Holcomb) Bailey. Patsy served as a Candy Striper and at the age of 17 met the love of her life, Lester Oldfield. They were soon married on June 26, 1953 and were happily married a few months short of 60 years. Patsy was a devoted wife and mother and spent many hours at the ballfields, youth camps, and other activities with "her boys", as she called them. In her later years Patsy was employed at Elder Beerman in Hamilton and Fred’s Donut Shop in Fairfield. She attended and was a very active member of the Princeton Pike Church of God where she served as a Sunday School teacher and an active member of the Ladies Ministry. Patsy loved the Ladies Ministry and other church bus trips. She could always be found in the front seat of the bus where she constantly created some type of mischief or fun.
She is survived by her sister, Juanita (John) Eversole, two sons, Doug (Theresa) Oldfield of Hamilton, Tim (Becky) Oldfield of Grove City, Five Grandchildren, Tracey (Flint) Jewell, Steve Oldfield, David (Erin) Oldfield, Michael (Damaris) Oldfield, and Jonathan Oldfield, six great-grandchildren, Logan Jewell, Cooper Oldfield, Delaney Oldfield, Graham Oldfield, Oliver Oldfield, and Joslyn Oldfield, Nieces and Nephews, Natalie "Natty" (Brian) Mason, Lisa (Tommy) McGoldrick and John (Kathryn) Eversole. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral service will be held at Brown, Dawson and Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. Hamilton, OH on Monday, January 22th at 11am with Barry Clardy officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21st from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton.
