Michael A. Barrett, age 72 of Hamilton, passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Michael was born in St. Augustine, Florida on April 26, 1945 to Jack Barrett and Frances Barrett-Fowler. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving from 1969-1971.  Michael worked at Ford Motor Company for 42 ½ years.  He loved NASCAR racing, drag races, sprint cars, Indy cars, and racing in general.  Michael also loved going to the White Oak Marina, especially Friday nights at the beer garden with all of his friends.  On September 26, 2012 in Hamilton, he married Jan Sackenheim.   

Michael is survived by his wife of many years, Jan Sackenheim; siblings, Jackie Retherford, Thomas (Linda) Barrett, Pam (Jimmy) Sauer, Elizabeth Kremer, Chris (Sherry) Barrett; 6 nephews; 6 nieces; and many great nieces and nephews, other family and friends.  Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Barrett and Frances Barrett-Fowler; and step father, William Fowler. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 451 Ridgelawn Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Saturday, October  7, 2017 at 10:00AM with Fr. Rob Muhlenkamp celebrant.  Burial will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October  6, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave.  Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Cincinnati, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
