Becky Lynn Reed, age 42 of Fairfield, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Becky was born in Hamilton, Ohio on November 4, 1974 to Danny Reed and Linda (Stailey) Reed.Becky graduated from Ross High School in 1993 and later from Miami University with an Associates Degree.

Becky began her first official job with Angilos Pizza when she was just 15 years old.  She then went on to work for Waffle House and quickly earned a promotion to store manager.  After a decade of waffles, grits and too many third shifts, Becky decided to pursue her true passion and left the Waffle World to work for the Great Parks of Hamilton County as a program Naturalist.  Throughout her 18 year career with Great Parks, she held several different positions such as Gift Shop Girl, Snake Lady and Vulture Bait.  The latter part of her time with Great Parks was spent at Glenwood Gardens in the Highfield Discovery Garden as "The Garden Girl" where she created programs for both children and adults that were educational, fun and engaging.  Becky had a true talent for tailoring her programs to the audience and her programs quickly filled with enthusiastic patrons.  When Becky wasn't knee deep in mud pies or hosting Victorian tea parties at work, she was an avid patron of the arts.  Attending the theater, museums and concerts of all kinds appealed to Becky's eclectic tastes.

Becky is survived by her devoted partner, Brian Major; her parents, Danny and Linda (Stailey) Reed; grandmother, Ada (Pennington) Stailey; siblings, Mark Reed and Susan (Mark) Droke; in-laws John and Karen (Shull) Major. Kelly (Brian) Daley, Stacy (Dan) Hof; nieces Hayley Martin, Jenna Droke, Lily Droke, Claire Daley, Kylie Hof, Korynn Hof, Kennedy Hof, Salem Arvin, Alex Latimer; nephews Justin Droke, William Daley, Drew Daley, Kasen Hof, Timmothy Baker Jr. Becky is preceded in death by many beloved relatives, including great-grandparents, Grandparents Carol and Rema (Duncan) Reed, Russell Stailey and her dear Mrs.Turtle.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 12:00 PM with Jim Williams and Marne Cox officiating.  Burial will follow at Venice Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions can be made to support a music garden inspired by Becky at Glenwood Gardens. Becky and I worked together at Glenwood Gardens. She made such a positive impression on kids throughout her naturalist career. They would see her out in the community and stop her to say things like “I know you! You’re the park lady that came to my school!” Her incredible knowledge, shining smile and great laughter will be sorely missed. Keeping her family in my thoughts and prayers.

Jennifer (Heyob) Wallace

My sincere condolences to your family. I remember Becky in school as a fellow woodwind. She was dedicated and someone you could always count on. Though quiet, her light-hearted humor would brighten any day. May your cherished memories bring you comfort and peace.

My prayers and condolences go out to the family. I grew up with Becky and and was fortunate to have spent many years with her as a classmate at Ross in the class of "93". I ran into her a couple years ago at Glenwood Gardens. As always, she had a smile on her face and a sweetness that will be missed. We lost a very special person. You will be missed Becky!

To the Reed Family, I am very sorry for your loss. I have such great memories as a kid with Becky. I think we played almost everyday. From making mud pies, riding bikes and slip and slides, to the first day of Kindergarten. I was over there a lot! Linda used to make all of us kids cinnamon toast and i thought that was the best thing ever! I still make it! Becky was an awesome friend, I am truly lucky to have her as one of my first best friends. She will be missed. You are in my thoughts and prayers. With love, Lee Ann
