Jean Longfield, age 90 of Hamilton, passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Friday, April 21, 2017.  She was born in Grygla, Minnesota on January 1, 1927 to George and Lillian (Mussey) Holbrook.  On July 31, 1945 in Highland, Michigan she married John Longfield and he preceded her in death in 2001.  Jean was a long time member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.  She was a founding member of the Fairfield Y’ves, which is now the Fairfield Women’s Club, a Past President of the CY Chapter of PEO, and a member of the Fairfield Civitan.

She is survived by three children, Yvonne (Jerry) Hogan of Hamilton, Nancy (Michael) Kolb of Brookville, Indiana, and Gary (Pam) Longfield of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Todd and Jason Hogan, John Kolb, Elaine Gardiner, Julie Poe, and Shawn and Matthew Longfield; thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Donald Holbrook of Mesa, Arizona; and numerous other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, Clifford and Clayton Moran, Helen Slaughter, Dorothy Osborn, and Wayne Holbrook.

Funeral service will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 4601 Fairfield Avenue, on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tammy Jo Reiser officiating.  Entombment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Memorial contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Cincinnati.  The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Westover for all their care and support.
