Charlotte Gillespie died peacefully at the Ohio Hospice of Dayton on Saturday, April 15, 2017, following a brief illness.  She was born in Shandon, Ohio on January 13, 1926.  On October 17, 1944 in Covington, KY, Charlotte married Don Gillespie and they remained a devoted couple until Don’s passing several years ago.  Early in life Charlotte worked in any number of fields, including real estate.  But later, she was best known as a trusted ward clerk at Fort Hamilton Hospital.  Charlotte’s defining quality was an easy way of being with people of all kinds.  Her home was a safe and welcoming place where many came to chat, enjoy being together and to solve problems of the day.  Charlotte did love her Hamilton, Ohio home.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Kevin (Terri) Gillespie and Linda Cozad-Kelso; her grandchildren, Daniel Gillespie, Angie (Tim) Reid, and Emily (Bob) Hutchings; step grandchildren, Hannah (Adam) Tills and Nina Bierlein; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Kenny (Florine) Hollister. Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Don Gillespie, and her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.  Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions can be made to Redeemer Church.
