Robert E. Kimble, age 76 of Hanover Township passed away at Hospice of Hamilton at Sunrise on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 12:46 PM. He was born in Hamilton on October 10, 1930 the son of Charles W. and Edith M. (Poff) Kimble. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1953. He was employed as a truck driver for Kroger for 24 years, retiring in 1990. Robert was a member of Washington Lodge F&AM and Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, and attended the Church of God. He enjoyed being on the water, spending winters in Florida, and traveling throughout the country. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, was very helpful to those in need, had many friends, and was well-known for his sense of humor. On August 12, 1950 in Hamilton, he married June Carroll.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, June Kimble of Hanover Township; four daughters, Teresa Kimble of Hamilton, Alberta (Mike) McCane of Harrison, Roberta (Tim) Betscher and Karen Kimble, both of Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Jodi, Tari, Timmy, Melissa, Jamie, Michelle, and Olivia; six great-grandchildren, Devon, Justice, Emma, Bobby, Deji, and Alexis; a brother, Paul (Marilyn) Kimble of Hamilton; three brothers-in-law, Hubert Carroll, Yulis Carroll, and John Carroll; three sisters-in-law, Mary Carroll, Virginia Fox, and Carolyn Mayzum; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Catherine Cupp.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ron Bicknell of Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
